The Senate of Sinnar University has approved in its meeting on4/ 2007 on 11/12/2007  the Sudanese Studies & Research.
Centre Objective
1. Collecting and studying the literature and thought of the Sultanate of Sinnar.
2. Preservation of the ruins of the Sultanate of Sinnar.
3. Studying the heritage of Ruwaq Sinnar and attempting to revive the  historical relation with AL-Azhar in Egypt.                
4. Studying the history of the Sudanese Islamic kingdoms incorporation with relative institutions.
5. To focus on the Sudanese ancient civilizations and introduce
them inside and outside the country.
6. To support the activities of Dawa- call.
7. To support researches devoted to intellectual and professional
Development of the society.
Significance of the Centre :
The centre concentrates basically on studying the heritage of the Sultanate of Sinnar .It would-be a real contribution to fields of science and knowledge in Sinnar State in particular and in the whole country in general. It is very much concerned with encouraging the effort to reveal the treasures of knowledge and civilization which were found in Sinnar in the sixteenth century and the centuries that followed.
The centre is expected to push forward the social, political and economical activities that link the university to the society.
